Government Seats For MBBS 2022
MBBS and BDS are the two most prominent careers of the medical stream, seats for which are secured by cracking the National level medical entrance exam – NEET UG. NEET is a UG-level exam conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) of India.
Every year lakhs of students take the exam of which only a bare thousand make it up to the cut-off list. NEET UG is conducted to offer seats in government medical colleges all over India. The ratio of seats to the number of applicants makes the exam tougher at the competition level thus, it’s always a hustle to grab a medical seat in a government college to avoid a private college that jogs on a hefty fee.
Although the number of seats has increased over the past years with the increase in the number of medical colleges. About 10 percent of seats in all medical colleges are reserved for economically weaker sections (EWS) through NEET.
The breakthrough of the total seats offered by NEET UG is given below
- MBBS seats: 91,827
- BDS seats: 27,698
- AYUSH seats: 50,720
- BVSc & AH seats: 525
Aspirants can take a sneak peek into the seat matrix offered by medical colleges in each Indian state through NEET UG
